The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Government of Pakistan, is inviting applications for the position of Technical Advisor (MP-I Scale) on a contract basis. This position will be filled strictly on merit in a transparent manner. Please note the updated qualifications and extended application deadline.
Position: Technical Advisor (MP-I Scale)
Revised Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. Degree: A Ph.D. in Ports, Shipping, Naval Sciences, Maritime Sciences, Maritime Business, or Management from a globally recognized university or HEC with at least 7 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
- Master’s Degree: Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the relevant subjects with at least 9 years of professional experience in the related field.
Correction to Previous Requirement: The previous requirement of a Ph.D. degree with 14 years of experience or a Master’s degree with 18 years of experience has been updated to the above qualifications.
Age Limit:
Maximum age: 62 years (calculated as of the closing date for applications).
Tenure:
The initial contract is for 3 years, extendable for a maximum of 2 additional years on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory performance.
Contract Termination:
The contract may be terminated with one month’s notice by either party or payment of one month’s basic pay in lieu of notice.
Pay Package:
The pay package will be according to the MP-1 Scale as per the Management Position Scale Policy.

- NOCs: Government/Semi-Government employees must obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their current employers.
- Eligibility and Selection: Eligibility and selection will be evaluated according to the existing MP Scale Policy-2020 available on the Ministry’s website.
- Interview: Only eligible candidates will be invited for an interview.
- Important Notes: Applications not meeting the criteria or received after the deadline will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.
