National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad is seeking qualified Pakistani Nationals for the position of Director, Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) on a contract basis. This role is crucial for enhancing research activities and fostering innovative partnerships within the university.

Position: Director ORIC (Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization)

Location: NUML Main Campus, Sector H-9, Islamabad

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• PhD in Social Sciences, Humanities, Management Sciences, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in academia, international donor agencies, research institutes, or think tanks.
• Proven experience in managing and enhancing research activities and aligning them with industry opportunities.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a track record in the commercialization of ideas, products, and services, particularly in languages, social sciences, or computer sciences.
• Established connections with donor agencies, government bodies, business/industry leaders, entrepreneurs, national/international universities, and social communities.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and growing non-profit organizations.
• Ability to develop and implement research policies and priorities for the university.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and improve the university’s research activities by mapping faculty research areas with industry needs.
• Drive the commercialization of research outputs and foster industry-academic partnerships.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders including donor agencies, government, and industry sectors.
• Formulate and implement research policies and strategic priorities for the university.
